Renowned Jaguar design boss Ian Callum retired in 2019, setting the stage for his eponymous design company’s inception. Callum quickly made waves in the automotive world, breathing new life into iconic concepts like the Jaguar C-X75.
Since it was first introduced online in November 2023, the SKYE project has progressed rapidly. They finally created the first working prototype which debuted at London’s prestigious Concours on Savile Row this week.
The SKYE promises to captivate onlookers with its enigmatic design, blurring the lines between coupe, SUV, and beach buggy.
The full interior has yet to be revealed, but from what we can see, it will be upmarket and boast sporty touches, such as a slim center console that cascades down from the dashboard. The automaker notes that several dials control the climate settings and other key features.
We can also see a three-spoke steering wheel with a red-trimmed 12 o’clock marker and a touchscreen compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The CALLUM SKYE is engineered to offer an exhilarating and rewarding driving experience both on- and off-road. The SKYE has been crafted to ensure the utmost capability, refinement, and beauty for discerning adventurers. As an all-electric vehicle, it’s powered by a 42kWh battery with an anticipated range of 170 miles.
There is also an option to specify an ultra-fast charging battery for a full charge in under ten minutes.
Measuring 159.3 inches in length and 74.8 inches in width, and weighing just 2,535 pounds, it boasts sportscar performance, achieving 0-60mph in under four seconds.
The shape of the rear glass is particularly appealing, mimicking the wraparound rear windscreen of the third and fourth-generation Camaros. Callum says the SKYE will have space for up to four occupants despite the compact dimensions.
Up front, there are two sports seats, while the second row features a bench seat that is “suitable for children.” When not in use, the bench can be removed to increase the available luggage space. There are no figures, but the automaker says there is sufficient storage for sports equipment or a weekend away.
Available to order now, with pricing ranging from $101,600 to $127,000, the SKYE marks the beginning of a new era in automotive design,. It is promising future variants tailored to diverse driving experiences and countries. To reserve the SKYE all you need is a $500 deposit.
